School Building Administration
The building principal is the chief administrative and supervisory officer in the school building. As such, he is responsible for the enforcement of all policies of the Board and the superintendent. He/She is further responsible for knowing and for enforcing the policies and programs of the school system as they apply to his/her particular building as enacted by the Board and administered by the superintendent and is hereby vested with the authority to carry such policies into effect.
Within the limits of Oregon School Law and of regulations by the Board and instructions of the superintendent, he/she shall be the administrative and supervisory authority in his/her school. His/Her primary duty shall be the supervision of instruction within his/her individual building relative to curriculum, staff and students.
Subject to approval by the superintendent, and in accordance with general policies, plans and regulations, the principal shall be responsible for the detailed organization of the program of the school, for the assignment of duties to certificated and classified staff members and for supervision of the instructional, maintenance and operation programs in the building.
