The district uses a licensed applicator and low-impact pesticides from the approved state list. The posted elementary grounds application window was March 23–27, 2026, including the required re-entry interval.

Mental health and prevention

Amity supports student health through mental health services and social and emotional learning. Its suicide prevention plan addresses prevention, risk assessment, intervention and postvention, in accordance with Senate Bill 52 and district policy. The district revisits and refines the plan regularly.

The district’s Drug/Alcohol/Tobacco Prevention Program emphasizes prevention, intervention, support and necessary corrective action. For local program information, call Jeff Clark at 503-835-2171.

Parents may also register for suggested child abuse identification and staff-to-student sexual conduct training.

Child Find and special education

Developmental screening and comprehensive assessments are available at no cost for children and young people from birth through age 21 when a suspected disability may affect educational development.

Services include speech therapy, physical and occupational therapy, Title and special education academic programs, and preschool programs for children age three and older.

Housing support and home instruction

McKinney-Vento support

Children and young people experiencing homelessness have equal access to a free, appropriate public education, including public preschool. Contact Danielle Ludwick at 503-835-0518, 807 S Trade Street, Amity, OR 97101.

Home-based instruction

Families choosing home-based instruction must file the necessary forms with Willamette Educational Service District. For instructions, contact Katie Stearns at the district office: 503-835-2171.

Student directory information

Federal laws require schools receiving ESEA assistance to provide military recruiters, on request, with student names, addresses and telephone listings, unless a parent has advised the school that this information may not be disclosed without prior written consent.
