Water Testing Plan

Outlines the Amity School District's plan to test for lead in drinking and food preparation water every five years, starting in 2016, and describes procedures for testing, result communication, and addressing high lead levels.

Lead Testing Plan and Procedures

Amity School District will test for lead in drinking and food preparation water every five years, beginning in 2016. Water samples will be sent to a Oregon Health Authority approved laboratory for testing.

All sampling will be done in accordance with the procedures established by the lab.

Results of the testing will be communicated to the school board, staff and public. At a minimum results will be posted to the district website and presented in open session of following school board meeting.

Amity superintendent will be responsible to ensure testing is completed and results are communicated.

Any drinking water source that has lead levels above the EPA-established acceptable amount (20 ppb) will be shut off or covered to prevent access until lead source can be eliminated or filtered below acceptable levels. If necessary, bottled water will be provided to students and staff.
